VyprVPN was my favorite VPN provider. It worked for me for a few weeks.

VyprVPN has been praised for its privacy-focused VPN. It has high-privacy options such as a kill switch, no-logs policy, and no logs policy. VyprVPN also offers a proprietary protocol to bypass internetcensorship and hide VPN usage by third-parties.

VyprVPN has excellent privacy and security features. It offers great streaming and torrenting support as well as user-friendly applications. However, it can be quite costly.

VyprVPN Features

These are VyprVPN’s essential security features:

ExpressVPN, like other VPN providers, has basic kill switches that can be enabled or disabled. VyprVPN uses perfect forward secrecy to change the encryption keys frequently that encrypt and decrypt your traffic. Hackers can only view the data for the current session, not previous sessions.

VyprVPN is strong in DNS leak protection (VyprDNS), however I’m disappointed VyprVPN lacks IPv6 protection or WebRTC protection.

VyprVPN supports The Onion Router. (Tor) VyprVPN protects your IP address when you access the Tor browser. VyprVPN is capable of supporting Tor, so if your Internet Protocol, (IP) is accidentally lost, VyprVPN may be exposed. ProtonVPN however is more appropriate for browsing Tor. ProtonVPN makes Tor sites accessible in regular browsers, such as Firefox or Chrome.

VyprVPN’s Block Malicious Sites feature blocks connections from websites that are suspected to contain malware. This feature isn’t available on macOS and Android 7.0.

VyprVPN Chameleon Protocol bypasses internetcensorship in restricted countries like China.

VyprVPN periodically refreshes Chameleon’s IP address. If your IP address is blocked by VyprVPN, VyprVPN will assign a new IP address to you.

Chameleon may slow down your internet speed. It adds an additional layer (the “obfuscation”) layer to your encryption. I downloaded 55% faster using Chameleon than with WireGuard.

Split-Tunneling

VyprVPN provides a split tunneling feature called “Connection Per App”. This allows you to choose which traffic is routed through the VPN server and your local ISP.

Connection per App performed as advertised VyprVPN allowed me to torrent at a speed fast enough to stream HD TV shows and movies simultaneously.

Split tunnelling from VyprVPN does not work on Android or iOS. However many of the best VPNs like ExpressVPN or ProtonVPN provide it for Windows. VyprVPN could include split-tunneling within its Windows app.

VyprVPN allows split-tunneling both on Android as well as macOS. This feature is not available in the Windows app. It was easy to use and I found no bugs.

VyprVPN’s iOS application is not as good than the Android app

The iOS application is very similar to the Android app. However, it does not have an automatic reconnect feature. Private Internet Access can be used if you require an iOS app with a solid killing switch.

Split-tunneling does not exist in VyprVPN iOS, but I do not know of any VPNs with split-tunneling available on iOS.

The iOS app supports IKEv2/IPSec OpenVPN, Chameleon and Chameleon. WireGuard only works with iOS 12 or higher.

VyprVPN iOS application is very good. It’s easy to use, secure and fast. However, the Android version offers more features.

Windows/Mac (Desktop)

VyprVPN’s Windows app and macOS application have nearly identical interfaces to their mobile apps. They are very easy to use, and offer great features.

VyprDNS is also available in both apps. They offer connection options as well as a variety protocols (OpenVPN, IKEv2/IPSec).

VyprVPN’s Windows and macOS apps are equally good. The macOS app, however, is more powerful and offers split-tunneling. It also allows you to stop malicious sites loading.

VyprVPN Applications: VyprVPN can be used easily
