McAfee-related functions function as promised. I was impressed by McAfee’s antiphishing/anti-exploit browser extension which blocked more dangerous sites in my tests than Chrome and Firefox. McAfee is better than premium alternatives like TotalAV and Avira’s WiFi firewall and antivirus protections.

McAfeeVPN didn’t seem to be my favorite.

McAfee continues to be my favorite antivirus.

McAfee has 1-year plans available for protecting 1, 5, 10 or infinite devices. McAfee offers McAfee premium antivirus software at a low price.

McAfee Security Protections performed very well on my MacBook Pro and iPhone 5 along with the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus (and iPhone 5), respectivey.

McAfee relies on traditional malware detection methods in its antivirus scanners . These techniques are used to evaluate files against McAfee’s large virus database

It was 2009 when I downloaded the first trojans on my computer.

McAfee failed the initial scan. McAfee also showed a high detection rate just weeks after I used it again.

McAfee required McAfee to perform a complete scan of the entire system in under an hour. It could take up to an entire hour depending on what file type you choose and how large it is.

McAfee scans the computer faster than any other program. The computer was unable to view or play any video.

McAfee’s virus scans are the most sought-after.

Firewall

McAfee’s firewall security is robust, but easy to use.

McAfee firewall offers many security options.

• Identify the programs that have accessed this webpage.
• Open or close certain network ports.
• There 4 levels for network protection.
• Edit trust settings for stored networks.
• Activate software intrusion detection.
• Whitelist certain programs.

McAfee firewall does an excellent job. The firewall can stop all suspicious activity, even for those who don’t have technical knowledge.

McAfee does not keep detailed logs of McAfee’s firewall. This is what I don’t like about McAfee’s firewall.

McAfee’s firewall provides protection against all network users. Advanced settings may be used to protect you against hackers.

VPN (Virtual Private Network).

VPN tunnels all network traffic and sends it to secure servers. VPN tunnels traffic via secure servers.

McAfee SafetyConnectVPN makes surfing and streaming the internet simple.

McAfee Safe Connect allows users to connect to more than 1,900 VPN server locations in 41 different countries.

During my testing Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Prime and Hulu all functioned. Crunchyroll blocked the service. You can use both ExpressVPN VPN/CyberGhostVPN to stream streaming media.

McAfeeSmartConnectVPN was able halt my torrent client download and uploading while I was testing.

McAfee Safe ConnectVPN includes many wonderful features. This VPN tracks your web browsing and IP addresses.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN performed exceptionally well during speed testing. It took Australia approximately 4 – 5 seconds to connect with a US Server.

McAfee Safe Connect VPN offers a user-friendly interface. It is compatible with Netflix.

WebAdvisor.

McAfee Internet Security Advisor provides protection against exploit attacks and malware-phishing.

WebAdvisor scans your web pages and reports any exploits.

WebAdvisor stopped attempts to phish and exploit attacks my computer.

WebAdvisor allows you to add a Secure Search option. This can be used to assign safety ratings and colors to search results. But it did not give “Dangerous” ratings for certain pirate websites.

WebAdvisor enables users to rate social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Total Protection is a performance optimization suite that can be used either on desktops or in web browsers.

McAfee QuickClean will clear your computer of cookies.

QuickClean scans took just one second.

QuickClean scanner lets me easily view all details. McAfee has the ability to delete files even if users are not as tech-savvy.

McAfee AppBoost improves your computer’s speed and allocates processing power to open applications

McAfee Chrome extension Web Boost Chrome prevents autoplaying online video. YouTube thumbnails are not loading.

McAfee’s performance optimization tools have been excellent. QuickClean helps to eliminate junk.

Password Manager

McAfee’sTruKeyPassword Management is a powerful method to protect your passwords.

TrueKey securely syncs user info in the cloud using 256bit AES encrypted encryption. McAfee cannot access saved logins.

Tru Key features include unlimited storage space for passwords across multiple devices (credit card, document storage) and is not compatible TOTP authenticators such as Yubikey.

True Key security tools are missing. LastPass or Dashlane security features can also be monitored in order to detect possible password breach.

TruKey is a powerful password management program. Although it’s time-saving, it doesn’t provide many security features. span span>

Tru Key enables master account retrieval. McAfee’s password manager doesn’t provide such tools.

True Keys’ simplicity is what I enjoy.

Parental Controls

McAfee Safe Family iOS or Android is an excellent parental control tool.

The following safe family permits:

• Filter webcontent.
• Block internet connections from devices.
• Block particular applications.

Safe Family’s interface allows for easy use. McAfee allows websites to be added to block or grant certain types of content permissions.

McAfee Safe Family performed outstandingly in my tests.

Safe Family’s greatest asset can track and update your child’s location. Safe Family can do this from as far away as 10 meters.

Protection from Identity Theft

McAfee Identity theft Protect allows you monitoring in real time to make sure that large amounts (PII), are not stolen.

McAfee has the ability to monitor the dark Web right after you’ve opened an account.

McAfee Identity Protection allows monitoring:

• 1 SSN (Social Security Number).
• 1 driver’s license.
• 1 passport.
• 1 international bank accounts.
• 10 or more medical IDs.
• Up To 10 email addresses.
• Maximum 10 phone numbers.

McAfee’s Social Media Monitor alerts users to privacy concerns when sharing content via Facebook or Instagram.

Monitoring Change of address to ensure that mail redirection can be monitored. McAfee also offers refunds or cancellations, as well as reissues.

McAfee offers several identity protection options. McAfee is more costly.

McAfee ID protects US users from identity theft. It is cost-effective and efficient.

McAfee allows you to securely shred files.

McAfee provides other features, however they are not always reliable.
