Antivirus Engine

Kaspersky offers a cloud-based scanner to detect malware.

McAfee and Bitdefender are two of the top antivirus companies. They use machine learning and signature databases to detect malware. Kaspersky is another leader in malware detection. It detected 100% of all malware samples.

Kaspersky offers 5 types of virus scans

• Quick scan. Quick scan of system startup and system memory.
• Complete scan. A complete scan will examine every file, folder and partition in your system.
• Selective Scanning. Allows you to scan any drive.
• Scan your removable drive. USB sticks, portable hard drives).
• Vulnerability scanning. Vulnerability scanning is a way to check your system for potential vulnerabilities.

Kaspersky offers many scan-scheduling options. Choose when to scan: after every application startup, or after each update.

To test Kaspersky, I used almost 1000 types and versions malware. This scan is 5x faster than the original one!

Kaspersky Quick Scan was unable to locate all malicious codes on my system. It only scans the critical areas that were loaded when your OS started. This is to be expected.

Kaspersky recommended that a “Full Scan” be performed to evaluate my entire system.

Bitdefender quickly ran a scan of my computer for malware within an hour. The “Full Scan” took about 45 minutes. Kaspersky did an excellent job. It detected everything and I was able to continue using it as usual.

I was able to see all malware files in “Quarantine” after the scan.

Kaspersky can recover files from viruses after they have been deleted.

Kaspersky can’t remove malware from a scan that hasn’t been cancelled within the specified time. Kaspersky will notify again if the scan hasn’t been cancelled by the deadline.

Next Kaspersky’s Instant Protection was tested. It silently scans all your apps on your smartphone 24/7 to detect viruses against Kaspersky.

I was able test the effectiveness and efficiency of real-time security. It stopped all malware attempts to download onto my computer.

I ran a ransomware simulator. I ran a ransomware simulator. It didn’t lock any files until Kaspersky’s immediate protection stopped it.

I finally used the vulnerability test to discover unsecure software that could have been exploited.

Even though it only found two cases of obsolete software the vulnerability scan was thorough. The vulnerability report gave information about how hackers exploited the vulnerability.

I installed the Anti-phishing Extension on Microsoft Edge. Mozilla Firefox. Google Chrome. I visited malware sites and Kaspersky blocked them all.

Kaspersky’s results were good, but Bitdefender and Norton were better at detecting all test links.

Kaspersky Protection’s tracking blocker prevents social media tracking. Kaspersky must ask users if they are happy with the extension’s installation.

The browser extension can also open a virtual keyboard. Panda Dome isn’t one of these, but it works well.

Kaspersky users can use Kaspersky keyboard with Safe Money.

The Kaspersky Web Protection features are excellent. Kaspersky Web Protection features were excellent in my testing. Kaspersky and the 80+ other affiliated sites do not have anti-tracking.

System Cleanup tools

Kaspersky provides a range of computer cleaning tools, including Unused data cleaner, privacy cleaner, and computer cleaner.

Kaspersky’s PC cleaner scans your system for browser extensions that you don’t use often.

The PC Cleaner was tested with Windows 10 Laptop. It took only 2 minutes to scan my entire system.

I was given options to delete, ignore, or use Google to find more information.

Kaspersky’s cleaner can clean only the apps you want. It can slow down startup times and display banners.

Kaspersky’s unused data cleaner scans files in the Recycle Bin, and logs them.

The Privacy Cleaner finally cleans your browser history and cookies.

Kaspersky’s system cleaning tools are excellent, but I would like to see more system optimization tools from Kaspersky. Sophos and other antiviruses do not offer system cleanup.

Kaspersky’s system cleaning tools allow you to quickly remove or unutilized data and trace your online activities.

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)

Kaspersky offers a free VPN to all its customers. This VPN restricts your browsing data to 200MB per day.

Kaspersky offers a premium VPN service:

• Kill switch. Any VPN that is lost or damaged will result in data transfer being stopped
• Smart Guard. Starts the VPN automatically when you connect to a network.

I wanted to see how each premium VPN performed during speed testing. Initialy, I disabled the VPN. Then I enabled it.

Kaspersky doesn’t have many of the features that are found in standalone password managers like two-factor authorization (2FA) or an automated password changer (APC), and encrypted cloud storage

Parental Controls

Kaspersky offers parental control (Safe Kids), which can help you protect your children online.

You can download the parental controls like the password manager as a separate program. It only takes a few minutes for it to be set up.

I was able to create weekly computer scheduling during my testing and then block the test machines once the time limit had passed.

Kaspersky’s Content Filters worked well. Safe Search allowed me to limit websites by categories. You can also create exclusions for any of the major browsers (Google Yahoo Bing Bing and YouTube).

Categories for block apps (not possible on iOS), and entertainment apps such as games.

I tried the location tracking/geofencing functions on an Android smartphone. The function was able to track my exact location and send alerts if my location is outside of the safe zones.

Kaspersky Safe Kids lets you monitor your social media accounts. This is something I find very useful.

The Kaspersky parental guidelines offer the most comprehensive and thorough information. Kaspersky provides guidance on how to talk with children about parental restrictions.

Kaspersky also uses several other tools, such as

• Data encryption & shredder.

My webcam protection function alerted me every time an App was accessed using my laptop’s Webcam. Bitdefender offers microphone and webcam protection.

Backup and Restore allows users to save files on a removable drive or to an online cloud storage service. The default option is to connect Kaspersky or Dropbox. However, this feature is not very useful.

Kaspersky Rescue Disc can be extremely helpful. This feature is also available for ESET and Panda.

To protect sensitive files, data encryption can be used. Data shredders are designed to be permanently deleted.

Gaming mode can pause all notifications, scans, and other notifications while you are gaming or when an application has been in full screen.

Kaspersky offers a number of other useful tools. Kaspersky also provides many other tools that I find extremely useful.

Kaspersky’s additional features are a great addition, as many antiviruses only offer basic protection against viruses. To save infected computers, the Rescue Disc function is very useful.

Kaspersky Setup and Easy to Use

Kaspersky is easy to set up and configure.

Kaspersky looks professional. Kaspersky is easy to use even for people who are not familiar with antivirus.

Kaspersky displays only the features you own. Kaspersky does not show you the features you do not have.

Kaspersky may have some difficulties finding his tools. To find the PC Cleaner, click on “More Tools”, Clean and Optimize, then on “PC Cleaner”. I would like to see a sidebar similar to that in TotalAV.

You can access the Notification Center via the main Kaspersky Window. This section provides important information and allows you to make decisions.

The Notification Center allows you to easily toggle between the functions you require. Kaspersky’s Notification Center makes it easy to resolve security problems quickly and efficiently.

Kaspersky is difficult to understand. Once you get used to it, it becomes very easy to navigate.

Kaspersky Mobile App

Kaspersky is an Android Internet Security App. iOS users have only access to the most important security features: parental controls. Password manager.
